It is the dedicated staff at AJJ that makes the center more than just a place to take lessons. The staff at AJJ have always provided a caring environment filled with lessons that will forever impact the lives of those who attend. Our son has received years of lessons by the most outstanding and dedicated staff I have ever seen. Always there with words of support, kindness and wisdom to help each child in any way they can. Little did we know how much our entire family would gain when our son took his first lesson."

"I wasn’t sure what to expect from a women’s self defense class. I went in full of nerves, but very anxious to learn any practical self defense. Even after the first lesson, I walked out of the dojo feeling more empowered and looking forward to learning more in the next class.
The instructors inspired such confidence through their incredible knowledge and awesome skill. Their teaching style was very supportive. They broke down the simple yet powerfully effective techniques into such easy to master steps. They taught us not only the actual ways to handle ourselves in various, common dangerous situations, but equally as important, they taught us how to handle that almost paralyzing fear and nerves that accompany those situations you never want to be in. This “adrenalin” training really helped focus the psychological aspect of getting out of a dangerous situation. In addition to the physical and psychological training, the environment we were in was very nurturing. I came to learn that the other women and I were really all there for the same reason. Most of us went in a little nervous and unsure, but wanting to learn and be stronger. Everyone was very supportive of each other.
By the end of the course I certainly walked out of the door feeling more aware, more empowered, more skilled and more confident in trusting my own instincts."

"First and foremost, I believe every person should have the ability to defend themselves. There is no better way to instill this than to have enrolled your children in a formal self defense program as soon as possible. Obviously, there are many alternatives to choose from, each of them is beneficial in their own way. American Jiu Jitsu provides a very scientific approach to its training regimen. Students are first taught to recognize and avoid dangerous situations. Next they are given the skills to escape dangerous situations. They then are taught how to control a dangerous situation and finally they are taught how to subdue adversaries. The students are given many tools to use in any self defense situation. They are prepared to defend themselves both standing and on the ground. Equally as important, the staff instructs the students when it is and when it is not appropriate to use their newly formed skills. They are always taught to avoid conflicts if at all possible.
Secondly, American Jiu Jitsu fosters a real family atmosphere. Each child is given as much individual attention as is required to help them progress to their next goal. (Individual lessons are available as well). There is no better place to bring the entire family. Believe me it is much more convenient than having the boys at soccer and the girls at ballet and everyone meets back at home sometime in the evening. Many activities separate families, AJJ brings them together. Parents are welcome and encouraged to watch their children progress in class. The staff always has an open door for the AJJ students and families.
As the children become teens and adults, AJJ offers enhanced programs for them that match their age and skill set. There is also cardio kickboxing, Muay Thai and strength training available. There is something for everyone.
In these uncertain economic times, it is the responsibility of every family to live within an appropriate budget. Each family has their own financial parameters and must be guided accordingly on where and how they spend their money. AJJ is a fantastic economic purchase. Unlike many other activities, the instructors are life long experts in their fields. They are martial artists in the traditional sense. You will find AJJ competitively priced with other activities. Simply put, these other activities cannot match the technical level of expertise and dedication of the AJJ staff. You won’t find a better value than AJJ. If self defense and fitness is part of the budget, I highly recommend that you visit AJJC and see for yourself."
